Kindergym

Kindergym is for children aged 1 year to 5 years and are accompanied by a parent or adult helper.  The children are able to self-direct their learning through circuits which allows for exploration of the basic movement fundamentals. Kindergym helps develop balance, co-ordination and confident body movement as they grow. Classes include Warm-up and Group-Time activities as well as equipment circuits and trampolining.

Kindergym = Parent/Carer accompanies child to class

Kinder-Ability = For children with special needs from 1 to 5 years

Mini-Gym

Mini-gym is for children aged 4 to 5 years whom may or may not yet be at school, and will happily attend class without the aid of a parent or adult helper.  This is a less daunting option for that shy 5 year old who isn’t quite ready for the mixed age Gym-Fun class. Children who are over 5 who have been doing a few terms in this class, and are socially ready, may be able to move into Gym-Fun class.

NB: Where a Mini-gym class occurs at the same time as Kindergym, a parent/carer will be required for part of that class.

Mini-gym = Child attends class independently

The main skills learnt in this class are Forward and Backward Rolls, Cartwheels and Handstands, as well as Basic Tramp Shapes, which are required elements before student can move into Gym-Mix.

Gym-Mix

Gym-Mix is a class that combines Trampoline, Acrobatics and Tumbling. It is a non-competitive class that provides skills from all three disciplines in a recreational setting. Below you will find an explanation of all three disciplines.

NB: This is not a beginner class and Gym-Fun is the recommended class for complete beginners.

ACROBATICS

Acrobatics class is geared towards learning handstands, cartwheel varieties and bridging skills such as walkovers. Parents should note that gymnastic and acrobatic skills take time to develop.

TRAMPOLINE

Trampolining includes skills from safe jumping through to somersault development. This class also includes Single Mini–Tramp and Double Mini-Tramp Skills.

TUMBLING

Tumbling is similar to acrobatics and includes round-offs, roll varieties, and lead-ups to handsprings, flics and floor somersaults.

Acro-Skills

This acrobatics class is geared towards dancers who want to learn Acrobatic skills for the stage. It is a non-competitive class for tweens and teens (9 yrs and over).  Skills taught in this class include cartwheels, walkovers, leading towards barani’s and flics.  We have an intermediate skill level class as well as an advanced class.

Please note – gymnastic and acrobatic skills take time to develop and skill acquisition may take a long time – we do not take “short-cuts” in as this can be unsafe for the participants.

Tramp-Skills

Tramp-Skills is a non-competitive trampoline class for tweens and teens (9 years and over).  In this class students will learn safe jumping through to somersaults skills. Beginner athletes with no gymnastic experience should attend Gym Skills for at least one term before joining tramp classes.   Participants will learn both Trampoline and Double-Mini-Tramp (DMT) skills.

Tumbling-Skills

Tumbling skills is a non-competitive tumbling class for tweens and teens (9 years and over) who just want to learn basic tumbling skills on the floor.  Including, round-off, handspring, flics (back-handspring) and front somersaults.

Team-Gym & Levels

Free-G is just like Parkour, free-running or Ninja warrior.  This is a more ‘urban’ or ‘street’ version of gymnastic skills and gives the participants the freedom to learn these elements in a safe, environment with qualified coaching staff.

We have MIni-Ninja classes for the Under 5’s.
